...The Flood Warning continues for the following rivers in South
Dakota...

  James River at Ashton affecting Spink County.

  James River at Columbia affecting Brown County.

  James River near Stratford affecting Spink and Brown Counties.

.For sites with a river forecast, the forecast includes
precipitation through the next 24 hours. Any future precipitation
could affect the forecasts.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Caution is urged when walking near riverbanks.

Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive
cars through flooded areas.

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

The next statement will be issued Monday afternoon by 330 PM CDT.

  forecast.

* WHERE...James River at Columbia.

* WHEN...Until further notice.

* IMPACTS...At 17.0 feet, water reaches the base of the levee at the
  old location of Columbia Park.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 9:00 AM CDT Wednesday the stage was 17.0 feet.
  - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours
    ending at 9:00 AM CDT Wednesday was 17.0 feet.
  - Forecast...The river is expected to remain nearly steady over
    the next several days.
  - Flood stage is 13.0 feet.

This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for west central Minnesota,
central South Dakota, north central South Dakota and northeast
South Dakota.

.DAY ONE...Today and tonight.

Scattered showers and thunderstorms are expected this afternoon and
evening east of the Missouri River. A few of the storms may produce
hail or strong wind gusts.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Thursday through Tuesday.

Additional chances for afternoon and evening storms continue through
the early part of the weekend. A few of the storms may produce hail
or strong winds gusts on Thursday.

.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...

Spotter activation is not expected at this time.
