Strong northerly winds will be in place this afternoon, reaching up to 30 miles per hour sustained, gusting up to 40 miles per hour in places. The combination of these high winds and minimum humidity ranging from 25 to 30 percent this afternoon creates a Very High Grassland Fire Danger Index today. Winds will die down this evening and turn southwesterly overnight. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Thursday through Tuesday. Low afternoon humidity down to 15 to 25 percent will cause Very High Grassland Fire Danger over parts of the forecast area Thursday. Southwesterly winds will increase during the day to be 20 miles per hour gusting to 25.
