URGENT - WINTER WEATHER MESSAGE

...HEAVY SNOW POSSIBLE SATURDAY INTO SUNDAY...

.A strong storm system will move into the region Saturday. Snow
will begin Saturday morning and persist into Sunday morning before
tapering off. The heaviest snow looks to be Saturday night. Snow
totals in excess of 6 inches are possible over much of the Black
Hills. However, with upslope enhancement some locations in the
northern Black Hills could potentially see around a foot.

...WINTER STORM WATCH IN EFFECT FROM SATURDAY MORNING THROUGH
SUNDAY MORNING...

* WHAT...Heavy snow possible. Total snow accumulations of 6 to 12
  inches possible. The highest amounts would be in the northern
  Black Hills.

* WHERE...In Wyoming, the Wyoming Black Hills. In South Dakota,
  the Northern Black Hills, the Central Black Hills and the
  Southern Black Hills.

* WHEN...From Saturday morning through Sunday morning.

* IMPACTS...Travel could be very difficult.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Winter Storm Watch means heavy snow, strong winds, freezing
precipitation, and cold temperatures are possible. Monitor NOAA
weather radio, local radio or television, or the Internet for
updates on this potentially dangerous storm.  Take time to
prepare for severe winter conditions before the storm develops.

of South Dakota...and the Black Hills of Wyoming.

.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight

Gusty northwest winds will develop today.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Thursday through Tuesday

Much colder air will flow into the area for the weekend. Heavy
snow is possible from Friday night into early Sunday.

.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...

Spotter activation will not be needed today.
