This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of southwest North
Carolina...east Tennessee and southwest Virginia.

.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight

Low relative humidity values and southwesterly winds will lead to
elevated fire danger this afternoon and evening. See Red Flag
Warnings and the Fire Danger Statement that are in effect
beginning this afternoon through this evening for more
information.

A cold front is expected to impact the area tonight into early
Monday. Winds will be gusty across the entire forecast area this
afternoon. A Wind Advisory is in effect for parts of the Southern
Appalachians.

The severe threat looks low with the cold front approaching the
western-most counties tonight. Moisture is the liming factor.
The best chance for strong to severe storms, will be for the
Cumberland Plateau counties.

No hazardous weather is expected at this time.

...ELEVATED FIRE DANGER THIS AFTERNOON AND EARLY EVENING...

Relative humidity values will drop into the 20 to 30 percent
range over much of the area this afternoon. In addition, southerly
winds between 10 to 20 mph gusting between 20 to 30 mph are
expected. These conditions will lead to an increased danger of
fire spread and growth.

Please refer to your local burn permitting authorities on whether
you may burn outdoors today.
