This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of southwest North
Carolina...east Tennessee and southwest Virginia.

.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight

Light snow will be possible across the higher elevations of
southwest Virginia this morning, primarily the higher elevations
of Wise and Russell Counties. Minor accumulations of a dusting to
one-half inch of snow are possible, mainly above 2500 feet
elevation.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Thursday through Tuesday

For Friday night through Saturday evening, another storm system
will move across the region producing the following possible
impacts:

1) High winds across the Mountains and possibly Foothills Friday
night and Saturday.

2) Moderate to heavy rain for Saturday, especially across the
Plateau and southeast Tennessee. Rainfall totals of 1 to 2 inches
are expected with locally higher amounts. Due to the dry
conditions across much of the area and quickly moving rain band,
only isolated runoff issues are possible.

3) There is a low probability of severe storms across the Plateau
and southeast Tennessee late Friday night into Saturday. This is
conditional on if the surface warm front moves north into the
area. Main concern will be damaing winds and an isolated tornado.

.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...

Spotter activation may be needed Saturday.
