This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of southwest North
Carolina...east Tennessee and southwest Virginia.

.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight

No hazardous weather is expected.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Monday through Saturday

0.5 to 1 inch of snowfall is possible across the highest peaks of
the southwest VA and extreme northeast TN mountains Monday night
into Tuesday morning. Minor ice accumulations are also possible
across the extreme northeast TN mountains that boarder NC. If
freezing rain occurs, ice amounts of 0.1" or less are expected.
Minor impacts are possible through Tuesday morning, use caution
while driving

A wet pattern with multiple rounds of moderate to possibly heavy rain
are expected next week. Flooding issues are becoming increasingly
likely. Total rainfall between 5 to 7 inches is expected across
the majority of the area. Isolated amounts over 8 inches are
possible. Lower rainfall amounts from 3 to 5 inches are currently
expected across northeast TN and southwest VA.

The potential exists for a significant flooding event as we move
through the long term. Stream and river flooding, flooded roadways,
as well as mud and rock slides are all possible. Please stay tuned
to the latest forecast as rainfall amounts will continue to be
adjusted as we get closer to and move through the upcoming week.
Additionally, high winds are possible on Saturday and Sunday
across the east TN, southwest VA, NC mountains. If we receive the
stronger winds this could exacerbate issues due to saturated
grounds, leading to higher probabilities of downed trees and power
outages.
