Breezy winds across the east TN, southwest VA, and southwest NC mountains from 25 to 35 mph today into tonight. A few isolated advisory level gusts are possible across the highest mountain tops of the east TN and southwest VA mountains. Mountain winds, additional flooding threats, and possible severe weather chances arrive Saturday into Saturday night. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Friday through Wednesday A wet pattern with another round of moderate to heavy rain this weekend. Flooding issues will becoming increasingly likely. Another 1.5 to 3 inches is expected Saturday into Sunday across the majority of the area. The potential exists for a significant flooding event through the weekend. Stream and river flooding, flooded roads, as well as mud and rock slides are all possible. Please stay tuned to the latest forecast as rainfall amounts will continue to be adjusted through the week. Additionally, another round of strong winds are possible across the East Tennessee, southwest Virginia, and southwest North Carolina mountains Saturday and Saturday night. This could cause more downed trees and power outages due to saturated grounds.
