This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for the Texas and Oklahoma
Panhandles.

.DAY ONE...Through Tonight.

Critical to extremely critical fire weather conditions will
persist for the entire combined Panhandles this afternoon and
evening.

Low chances exist for a storm or two to develop across the far
eastern combined Panhandles this afternoon and evening. If a storm
is able to develop it could quickly become severe.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Tuesday through Sunday.

Daily thunderstorm chances will exist beginning Wednesday lasting
through the weekend.

FIRE WARNING AT THE REQUEST OF AMARILLO AREA OFFICE OF EMERGENCY
MANAGEMENT FOR SOUTHERN POTTER COUNTY.

* AT 341 PM CDT...A DANGEROUS WILDFIRE WAS LOCATED 4 MILES NORTHEAST
  OF BUSHLAND...OR 9 MILES WEST OF AMARILLO...MOVING RAPIDLY
  NORTHEAST AT 3 TO 5 MPH.

* AREAS IMPACTED... AREAS AROUND THE AMARILLO CITY LANDFILL
  PRIMARILY SOUTH OF TASCOSA ROAD, INCLUDING BISHOP ESTATES.

* ADDITIONAL INFORMATION...SMOKE AND FIRE WILL PRESENT A THREAT TO
  LIFE AND PROPERTY.

The National Weather Service in Amarillo has issued a

* Dust Advisory for...
Central Randall County in the Panhandle of Texas...
Southeastern Potter County in the Panhandle of Texas...

* Until 430 PM CDT.

* At 303 PM CDT, a dust channel was over Mescalero Park, or 6 miles
north of Canyon, moving north at 30 mph.

HAZARD...Less than one half mile visibility with strong wind in
excess of 40 mph.

SOURCE...Satellite Imagery.

IMPACT...Hazardous travel.

This is impacting areas around Canyon up along I-27 into central
Amarillo.

Locations impacted include...
Amarillo, Canyon, Lake Tanglewood, Mescalero Park, and Timbercreek
Canyon.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Blowing dust brings reduced visibility, leading to dangerous driving
conditions. If driving, avoid blowing dust if possible. If caught in
dense blowing dust, pull off the road, turn off your lights and keep
your foot off the brake.

* IMPACTS...Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects. Tree
  limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result.

* WINDS...Southwest 25 to 35 mph with gusts up to 50 mph.

* RELATIVE HUMIDITY...As low as 4 percent.

* TEMPERATURES...In the 90s to around 100.

* IMPACTS...Any fires that develop will have the potential to
  spread rapidly. Outdoor burning is not recommended.
