Critical fire weather conditions are expected to develop this afternoon. A Red Flag Warning is in effect from 11 AM this morning until 9 PM this evening for the far southern Texas Panhandle, South Plains, and portions of the Rolling Plains. Additionally, strong southwest winds around 25 to 35 mph with gusts to 45 mph are expected near the Texas-New Mexico state line. A Wind Advisory is in effect from 1 PM this afternoon until 8 PM this evening for these locations. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Friday through Wednesday. Thunderstorms are possible Friday afternoon and evening mainly along and east of the Interstate 27 corridor. A few severe storms capable of producing large hail and damaging wind gusts may develop off the Caprock. Elevated fire weather conditions are likely on Friday afternoon, mainly across western portions of the Caprock. Additional thunderstorms are likely across most of the area Saturday afternoon through Saturday night.
