This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of south central
Arkansas, southwest Arkansas, north central Louisiana, northwest
Louisiana, southeast Oklahoma, east Texas and northeast Texas.

.DAY ONE...This Afternoon and Tonight...

No hazardous weather is expected through tonight.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Sunday through Friday...

Cooler and drier weather will continue for the weekend with a few
showers edging our way late on Sunday well south of I-20. We will
continue to watch the evolution of Tropical Storm Beta in the Gulf
of Mexico into a minimal hurricane perhaps as early as Sunday. The
current National Hurricane Center track forecast slowly moves the
tropical storm toward the Texas Coastal Bend, becoming hurricane
intensity. This proximity of the slowly approaching hurricane will
continue to spread copious amounts of moisture inland for showers
and thunderstorms through midweek with increasing coverage each
day. Some rainfall could be heavy and gusty winds could affect
areas south of I-20, all highly dependent on the storms eventual
track. These threats will continue to be closely monitored with
the heavy rain and flooding potential of greatest concern at this

Activation of emergency management personnel, amateur radio
operators and storm spotters will not be needed through tonight.
