...OZONE ACTION DAY...

The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) has issued
an Ozone Action Day for the Dallas-Fort Worth area for Thursday,
August 5, 2021.

Atmospheric conditions are expected to be favorable for producing
high levels of ozone air pollution in the Dallas-Fort Worth area
on Thursday. You can help prevent ozone pollution by sharing a
ride, walking, riding a bicycle, taking your lunch to work,
avoiding drive-through lanes, conserving energy, and keeping your
vehicle properly tuned.

This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for North and Central Texas.

.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight.
Scattered thunderstorms are possible today as an upper disturbance
moves overhead. The highest thunderstorm chances will be near the Red
River. Downburst wind gusts and lightning will be the main hazards
with any strong storms during the afternoon.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Friday through Wednesday.
Low thunderstorm chances will continue in Central Texas on Friday.
Heat index values will climb to 105 or higher for some locations over
the upcoming weekend, and oppressive heat is expected to continue
into next week.

.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...
Spotter activation is not expected at this time.
