This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for South-Central Texas..

.DAY ONE...Today And Tonight.

A Heat Advisory is in effect for most areas with the exception of
the Hill Country. This does include both the Austin and San
Antonio metro areas. Hot and humid conditions will lead to peak
heat index values of 108 to 112 degrees with isolated spots up to
114 this afternoon.


.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Friday through Wednesday.

Hot and humid conditions will continue on Friday. Afternoon heat
indices are likely to reach the 102 to 110 degree range along the
Rio Grande to areas along and east of I-35. Isolated spots up to
113 can`t be ruled out. Otherwise, no other weather hazard
expected at this time for the rest of the extended period.

...HEAT ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 1 PM THIS AFTERNOON TO 7 PM CDT
THIS EVENING...

The National Weather Service in Austin/San Antonio has issued a
Heat Advisory, which is in effect from 1 PM this afternoon to
7 PM CDT this evening.

* TEMPERATURE...Heat index values of 108 to 114.

* TIMING...Afternoon into early evening;

* IMPACTS...Increased risk of heat-related illnesses including
  Heat Exhaustion and Heat Stroke.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Heat Advisory means that a period of hot temperatures is
expected. The combination of hot temperatures and high humidity
will combine to create a situation in which heat illnesses are
possible. Drink plenty of fluids...stay in an air-conditioned
room...stay out of the sun...and check up on relatives and
neighbors.

Take extra precautions...if you work or spend time outside. When
possible...reschedule strenuous activities to early morning or
evening. Know the signs and symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat
stroke. Wear light weight and loose fitting clothing when possible
and drink plenty of water.
