The National Weather Service in Lake Charles has issued a

* Flood Warning for...
  Jefferson County in southeastern Texas...
  Southwestern Newton County in southeastern Texas...
  Southeastern Hardin County in southeastern Texas...
  Orange County in southeastern Texas...
  Southeastern Jasper County in southeastern Texas...

* Until 230 PM CDT Saturday.

* At 527 AM CDT, emergency management and automated gauges indicate
  flooding continues across much of coastal southeast Texas.
  Isolated to scattered showers and thunderstorms are possible
  today, but are not expected to produce additional heavy rainfall.
  Current flooding will persist across the region today as flood
  waters continue to slowly recede.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
  Beaumont, Port Arthur, Orange, Nederland, Groves, Port Neches,
  Lumberton, Vidor, Bridge City, Silsbee, West Orange, Sour Lake,
  Nome, Deweyville, Evadale, Central Gardens, Sabine Pass, Hamshire,
  Mauriceville and Buna.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.

This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of central
Louisiana, south central Louisiana, southwest Louisiana, west
central Louisiana, and southeast Texas.

.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight
Scattered showers and thunderstorms can be expected today, with
activity dissipating during the evening. No severe or hazardous
weather is expected, but some storms will be capable of producing
occasional cloud to ground lightning.

Moderate to major flooding will continue along portions of the
lower Neches River, Pine Island Bayou and Cow Bayou.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Sunday through Friday
Isolated to widely scattered daytime showers and storms will be
possible through early next week. Shower and thunderstorm chances
are expected to increase by Thursday and Friday. At this time,
the probability for widespread hazardous weather is low.

Moderate to major flooding will continue along portions of the
lower Neches River, Pine Island Bayou and Cow Bayou this weekend.
River flooding is expected to continue through the next several
days, but water levels should begin to recede by early next week.

Spotter activation will not be needed.
