This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of central Utah...
northern Utah...southern Utah...southwest Utah and southwest
Wyoming.

.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight

Critical fire weather conditions will develop this afternoon
across all but northwest Utah due to gusty winds and low humidity
values.

A multi day heatwave will begin today with temperatures rising to
around 15 degrees above climatological normals for mid June.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Monday through Saturday

Critical fire weather conditions due to low relative humidity and
gusty winds are forecast to continue through Tuesday.

Record or near record temperatures will also increase the risk of
heat related illness through much of this week.

.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...

Spotter activation may be needed. Please relay any information
about observed severe weather to the NWS while following all
local, state, and CDC guidelines.

MDT TUESDAY FOR WIND AND LOW RELATIVE HUMIDITY FOR FIRE WEATHER
ZONE 478...

* AFFECTED AREA...Fire Weather Zone 478 Salt Lake Desert.

* WINDS...South 10 to 20 mph with gusts up to 35 mph.

* RELATIVE HUMIDITY...As low as 3 percent.

* TEMPERATURE...Record challenging heat with readings about 15
  degrees above average.

* IMPACTS...Critical fire weather conditions are possible. Any
  new fire starts or existing fires may spread rapidly.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions
are either occurring now...or are imminent. A combination of
strong winds...low relative humidity...and warm temperatures can
contribute to extreme fire behavior.

* WHAT...For the Excessive Heat Warning, dangerously hot
  conditions with temperatures up to 104 expected. For the Heat
  Advisory, temperatures up to 100 expected.

* WHERE...Great Salt Lake Desert and Mountains, Tooele and Rush
  Valleys, Northern Wasatch Front, Salt Lake Valley and Utah
  Valley.

* WHEN...For the Excessive Heat Warning, from noon Monday to
  midnight MDT Tuesday night. For the Heat Advisory, from noon
  Wednesday to midnight MDT Friday night.

* IMPACTS...Extreme heat will significantly increase the potential
  for heat related illnesses, particularly for those working or
  participating in outdoor activities.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out
of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Young
children and pets should never be left unattended in vehicles
under any circumstances.

Take extra precautions if you work or spend time outside. When
possible reschedule strenuous activities to early morning or
evening. Know the signs and symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat
stroke. Wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing when
possible. To reduce risk during outdoor work, the Occupational
Safety and Health Administration recommends scheduling frequent
rest breaks in shaded or air conditioned environments. Anyone
overcome by heat should be moved to a cool and shaded location.
Heat stroke is an emergency! Call 9 1 1.
