This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for southwest Virginia, west
central Virginia and southeast West Virginia.

.DAY ONE...This afternoon and tonight.

Excessive rainfall may result in localized flash flooding. Periods
of prolonged heavy rain today may cause creeks and streams to rapidly
rise out of their banks and threaten nearby roads and bridges.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Tuesday through Sunday.

...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 145 AM EDT TUESDAY...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...A portion of southwest Virginia, including the following
  counties and independent city, City of Radford, Montgomery and
  Pulaski.

* WHEN...Until 145 AM EDT.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
  Overflowing poor drainage areas. Ponding of water in urban or
  other areas is occurring or is imminent.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 950 PM EDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges
    indicated heavy rain. Overflowing poor drainage areas will
    cause minor flooding in the advisory area. Up to 1.5 inches
    of rain have fallen.
  - This includes the following streams and drainages...
    Carper Branch, Connellys Run, Elliott Creek, Little Indian
    Creek, Back Creek, Little River, Flatwoods Branch, Dry Run,
    Gallion Branch, Craig Creek, Goose Creek, Indian Run and Crab
    Creek.
  - Some locations that will experience flooding include...

  Patrick, City of Roanoke, City of Salem, Franklin and Roanoke.

* WHEN...Until 230 AM EDT.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
  Overflowing poor drainage areas.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 830 PM EDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges
    indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is
    ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Up
    to 3 inches of rain have fallen.
  - This includes the following streams and drainages...
    Back Creek, Beaverdam Creek, Anglin Branch and Beaver Creek.
  - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
