This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of eastern West
Virginia, northern and central Virginia, and central and western
Maryland.

.DAY ONE...Tonight

A Flood Watch has been issued for the threat of flash flooding
across portions of central Virginia and the central Shenandoah
Valley through midnight.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Wednesday through Monday

Isolated to scattered instances of flash flooding are possible
Wednesday afternoon and evening.

...FLOOD WARNING NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL 1145 PM EDT THIS EVENING...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues.

* WHERE...A portion of western Virginia, including the following
  county, Rockingham.

* WHEN...Until 1145 PM EDT.

* IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying
  and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 913 PM EDT, Emergency management reported flooding in the
    warned area. Flooding is already occurring. Between 2.5 and 3
    inches of rain have fallen.
  - Flooding impacts will continue, but no additional rainfall is
    expected.
  - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
    Bridgewater...                     Dayton...
    Montezuma...
  - This includes the following Flood Prone Roads...
    Route 704 near Cooks Creek and The Town of Dayton near Cooks
    Creek.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.

Stay away or be swept away. River banks and culverts can become
unstable and unsafe.

...FLOOD WATCH IN EFFECT UNTIL MIDNIGHT EDT TONIGHT...

* WHAT...Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall is possible.

* WHERE...Portions of central, northwest, and western Virginia,
  including the following areas, in central Virginia, Greene, Orange
  and Spotsylvania. In northwest Virginia, Northern Virginia Blue
  Ridge. In western Virginia, Rockingham.

* WHEN...Until midnight EDT tonight.

* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers,
  creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - A tropical air mass remains in place with additional bouts of
    heavy rainfall possible this evening. Rainfall rates in the
    stronger more persistent storms could reach 1.50 to 2.50
    inches per hour. Isolated storm total amounts may reach 3 to
    5 inches in a few spots, particularly along the higher
    terrain.
