This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of eastern West
Virginia, northern and central Virginia, and central and western
Maryland.

.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight

A Flood Watch is in effect for Augusta County until 6 PM.

A High Wind Warning is in effect for much of the area through this
evening, except across the central Virginia piedmont where Wind
Advisories are in effect. Across the Blue Ridge Mountains, High
Wind Warnings continue through the night.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Monday through Saturday

Across the Blue Ridge Mountains, High Wind Warnings remain in
effect through early Monday afternoon. Elsewhere, gusty winds may
linger through Monday.

There is an enhanced winter storm threat Wednesday night through
Thursday night. There is an increased potential for significant
travel impacts and closures, if this threat materializes.

...HIGH WIND WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM NOON TODAY TO 1 AM EST
MONDAY...

* WHAT...West winds 20 to 30 mph with gusts of 50 to 60 mph expected.

* WHERE...Portions of north central Maryland, northwest and western
  Virginia, and eastern West Virginia.

* WHEN...From noon today to 1 AM EST Monday.

* IMPACTS...Damaging winds will blow down trees and power lines.
  Power outages are possible. Travel will be difficult, especially
  for high profile vehicles.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...The strongest wind gusts are expected from
  mid afternoon through mid evening. Wind gusts of 40 to 50 mph may
  linger at times through Monday.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Remain in the lower levels of your home during the windstorm, and
avoid windows. Watch for falling debris and tree limbs. Use caution
if you must drive.
