This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of eastern West
Virginia, northern and central Virginia, and central and western
Maryland.

.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight

A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect from Nelson County up
through Culpeper County until 12 PM today for the threat of light
freezing rain.

An Ice Storm Warning is in effect for the northern and central
Virginia Blue Ridge Mountains from 3 PM today through 4 AM
Thursday. Significant ice accumulations around one-quarter of an
inch are expected.

A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect for the Shenandoah Valley
up through the Potomac Highlands from 3 PM today through 4 AM
Thursday. Ice accumulations around one to two tenths of an inch
are expected.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Thursday through Tuesday

Moderate to heavy rainfall is possible Saturday through Sunday.
The rain combined with melting snow may lead to instances of
flooding. Flooding may get into the mainstem rivers Sunday through
Sunday night.

Isolated severe thunderstorms are possible Sunday afternoon,
which could produce damaging wind gusts. This threat is mainly for
areas south of Interstate 66.

...PATCHY FREEZING DRIZZLE THIS MORNING...

Patchy light wintry precipitation may persist through this
morning, likely in the form of freezing drizzle or even some light
flurries. Temperatures should gradually rise above freezing
throughout the morning from east to west.

Slick spots will be possible, especially on elevated and
untreated surfaces. Motorists and those venturing outside today
should be cautious for any slick spots that they encounter. If
traveling, especialliy given the snowfall overnight as well.
Give yourself extra time to reach your destination, and allow
extra stopping space between you and the car in front of you.
