central Virginia and south central Virginia.

Gusty winds gradually diminish overnight.

We are watching for a potential winter storm Wednesday into Thursday
with heavy snow possible.

  Goochland Counties.

  Meherrin River At Lawrenceville affecting Greensville and
  Brunswick Counties.

  James River At Richmond Locks affecting City of Richmond and
  Henrico County.

  James River At Richmond Westham affecting City of Richmond,
  Henrico and Chesterfield Counties.

  Appomattox River At Mattoax affecting Powhatan, Chesterfield and
  Amelia Counties.

  Nottoway River At Sebrell affecting Southampton and Sussex
  Counties.

  Nottoway River Near Stony Creek affecting Sussex and Greensville
  Counties.

...The Flood Warning is extended for the following rivers in
Virginia...

  Appomattox River Above Farmville affecting Prince Edward,
  Cumberland and Amelia Counties.

  Appomattox River At Matoaca affecting Dinwiddie, City of
  Petersburg and Chesterfield Counties.

For the Lower James Basin...including Richmond Locks, Richmond
Westham, Cartersville...Moderate flooding is forecast.
For the Appomattox Basin...including Farmville, Mattoax, Matoaca...
Moderate flooding is forecast.
For the Chowan Basin...including Stony Creek, Sebrell,

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive
cars through flooded areas.

...FLOOD WARNING NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL EARLY WEDNESDAY MORNING...

* WHAT...Moderate flooding is forecast.

* WHERE...James River at Cartersville.

* WHEN...Until early Wednesday morning.

* IMPACTS...At 23.0 feet, Moderate flooding begins. Secondary roads
  parallel to left bank of river flood.
  At 23.5 feet, Cartersville Boat landing parking lot and boat ramp
  on righthand side of the river and 200 ft downstream of State
  Route 45 bridge is flooded.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 2:45 PM EST Sunday the stage was 19.9 feet.
  - Bankfull stage is 16.0 feet.
  - Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage
    late this afternoon to a crest of 24.0 feet tomorrow evening.
    It will then fall below flood stage Tuesday evening.
  - Flood stage is 20.0 feet.
  - Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of
    23.9 feet on 01/26/2010.
