central Virginia, south central Virginia and southeast Virginia.

   High Wind Warning.

A few storms Sunday may become severe with damaging winds the
primary threat. However, a brief tornado is also possible.
Additionally, we are watching for a potential winter storm Wednesday
into Thursday with heavy snow and mixed precipitation possible.

PM EST THIS AFTERNOON...

* WHAT...Southwest winds 25 to 35 mph with gusts up to 50 to 60 mph
  expected.

* WHERE...Portions of northeast North Carolina and central, east
  central, south central, and southeast Virginia.

* WHEN...From 9 AM this morning to 3 PM EST this afternoon.

* IMPACTS...Damaging winds will blow down trees and power lines.
  Widespread power outages are expected. Travel will be difficult,
  especially for high profile vehicles.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Remain in the lower levels of your home during the windstorm, and
avoid windows. Watch for falling debris and tree limbs. Use caution
if you must drive.
