This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for southeast Maryland, central
Virginia, east central Virginia, eastern Virginia, north central
Virginia, south central Virginia and southeast Virginia.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Wednesday through Monday.

Daily scattered showers and storms will remain possible each day
through midweek. Additional rounds of locally heavy rain will also
make additional instances of flash flooding possible.

...FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 230 PM EDT THIS AFTERNOON...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues.

* WHERE...Portions of central and south central Virginia, including
  the following counties and independent cities, in central
  Virginia, Chesterfield and City of Colonial Heights. In south
  central Virginia, City of Hopewell, City of Petersburg, Dinwiddie
  and Prince George.

* WHEN...Until 230 PM EDT.

* IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying
  and flood-prone locations is occurring. Numerous roads remain
  closed due to flooding. There has been reports of water over US
  460 in low lying areas southeast of Petersburg.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 1022 AM EDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges
    indicated between 2 and 5 inches of rain have fallen across
    the area, with localized amounts of up to 9 inches just west
    of Petersburg. The rain has ended, but flooding will continue
    through early afternoon.
  - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
    Petersburg, Dinwiddie, Hopewell, Colonial Heights, McKenney,
    Virginia State University, Fort Gregg-Adams, Disputanta,
    Prince George, Ettrick, Matoaca, Carson, Sutherland, Dewitt,
    Jordans Point, Garysville, Burrowsville, Reams, Richard Bland
    College and Burgess.

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood

The National Weather Service in Wakefield has extended the

* Flash Flood Warning for...
  Northern Dinwiddie County in south central Virginia...
  West Central Prince George County in south central Virginia...
  The Southern City of Petersburg in south central Virginia...

* Until 1100 AM EDT.

* At 654 AM EDT, Doppler radar indicated that thunderstorms produced
  heavy rain across the warned area overnight. Between 3 and 6
  inches of rain have fallen, and locally up to 8 inches. Flooding
  impacts will continue, but no additional rainfall is expected.
  Flash flooding is ongoing.

  HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

  SOURCE...Radar.

  IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban
           areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as
           other poor drainage and low-lying areas.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
  Petersburg, Sutherland, Petersburg Airport, Addison, Burgess, Five
  Forks, Church Road, Walkers and Richard Bland College.

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

  Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Flooding may occur
  in poor drainage and urban areas. Low-water crossings may be
  flooded. Storm drains and ditches may become clogged with debris.
