Hazardous Weather Outlook National Weather Service San Juan PR 414 AM AST Fri Mar 21 2025 AMZ716-726-VIZ001-002-220815- St. Thomas St. John adjacent Islands-St Croix- Nearshore Atlantic and adjacent Caribbean Coastal Waters- 414 AM AST Fri Mar 21 2025 This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of USVI. .DAY ONE...Today and Tonight .Marine Conditions...Hazardous conditions for small craft in areas with seas of 7 feet or higher, particularly across the local Atlantic waters. Small craft should exercise caution elsewhere across the local waters. .Rip Currents...Life-threatening rip currents are likely in the surf zone, particularly across the northern USVI. These life- threatening conditions are possible across St. Thomas, with isolated stronger rip currents possible elsewhere, especially near piers, jetties and channels. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Saturday through Thursday A larger northwesterly swell will continue to arrive to the regional waters with building seas between 8 and 12 feet with periods of 13 to 15 seconds. As these significant, long- period northwesterly swells approach, the Atlantic Waters and Caribbean Passages marine conditions will deteriorate and the Atlantic coastline could experience breaking waves of 15 feet or higher. Hazardous marine and coastal conditions will extent into the weekend. An unstable weather pattern will evolve this weekend, increasing the potential for flooding rains. A surface high pressure will move into the central Atlantic by early next week, promoting stable and drier conditions. Seas will start to improve on Sunday onwards. .SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...
