...HEAT ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 8 PM PDT MONDAY...

* WHAT...High temperatures mainly in the 90s except near 102F
  Lewiston area Sunday.  Limited overnight relief with low
  temperatures 65 to 75.

* WHERE...Othello, Rockford, Pomeroy, Fairfield, Odessa, Alpowa
  Summit, Lewiston, Creston, Quincy, Lapwai, Lewiston Grade,
  Davenport, Peck, Wilbur, Moses Lake, Ritzville, Cheney, Grand
  Coulee, Clarkston, Airway Heights, Downtown Spokane, Spokane
  Valley, Ephrata, Gifford, Culdesac, Coulee City, and Harrington.

* WHEN...Until 8 PM PDT Monday.

* IMPACTS...Hot temperatures may cause heat illnesses.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of
the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.

Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose
fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning
or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and
heat stroke.

To reduce risk during outdoor work, the Occupational Safety and
Health Administration recommends scheduling frequent rest breaks in
shaded or air conditioned environments. Anyone overcome by heat
should be moved to a cool and shaded location. Heat stroke is an
emergency! Call 9 1 1.

URGENT - FIRE WEATHER MESSAGE

...HOT, DRY, WINDY SUNDAY AND MONDAY...

.Hot and dry conditions will be in place today. Westerly winds
will increase from the East Slopes and into the Western Columbia
Basin through the evening. On Monday winds will shift out of the
north to northwest as a cold front passes. The Okanogan Valley
will be especially windy with gusts of 45-60 MPH.

...RED FLAG WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 1 PM TO 11 PM PDT MONDAY FOR
WIND AND LOW RELATIVE HUMIDITY FOR FIRE WEATHER ZONES 708 AND
709...

The National Weather Service in Spokane has issued a Red Flag
Warning for wind and low relative humidity, which is in effect
from 1 PM to 11 PM PDT Monday. The Fire Weather Watch is no
longer in effect.

* Affected Area: Eastern Columbia Basin  -Palouse  -Spokane Area
  (Zone 708) and Lower Palouse  -Snake River (Zone 709).

* Winds: West 10 to 20 mph with gusts 30 to 40 mph.

* Relative Humidities: 15 to 25 percent.

* Impacts: Rapid fire spread is expected with any new or existing
  fires.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions
are either occurring now....or will shortly. A combination of
strong winds...low relative humidity...and warm temperatures can
contribute to extreme fire behavior.
