Flood advisories and flash flood warnings are in effect through this evening. Additional rainfall amounts up to one inch are expected for parts of northwest Wisconsin. Strong to severe thunderstorms are possible for parts of northwest Wisconsin, mainly in Price county, until about 10 PM. Wind gusts up to 60 mph are the main threat. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Wednesday through Monday Strong northeast winds will increase the threat of rip currents Wednesday for areas near the Twin Ports, including the beaches of Duluth and Superior. A Beach Hazards Statement may be needed. Additional thunderstorm chances are forecast through the end of the week. .SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT... At 747 PM CDT Tuesday, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges
indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area.
Between 3 and 6 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall
amounts up to 2 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash
flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly.
HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms producing
flash flooding.
SOURCE...Radar and automated gauges.
IMPACT...Life threatening flash flooding of creeks and streams,
urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses.
Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
Barnes, Drummond, Upper Eau Claire Lake, Middle Eau Claire Lake,
Lake Owen, and Rainbow Lake Wilderness.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.
Campers and hikers should avoid flooded trail crossings. If camping
at a site along or near the banks of rivers or streams, move away
from those locations and seek higher ground. Trails in hilly terrain
can quickly become unstable during or shortly after heavy rainfall.
Report observed flooding to local emergency services or law
enforcement and to the National Weather Service in Duluth when you
can do so safely. Flooding can be reported to the National Weather

highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor
drainage and low-lying areas.

Barksdale, Brule, Solon Springs, Drummond, Gordon, Town of Delta,
Ino, Benoit, Odanah, Bennett, Mason, Lake Owen, Upper Eau Claire

- At 740 PM CDT Tuesday, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due
to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to
begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 1.5 and 5 inches
of rain have fallen.
- Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are expected
over the area. This additional rain will result in minor
flooding.

Superior, Ashland, Moose Lake, Washburn, Sanborn, Hawthorne,

* WHAT...Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be
possible.
* WHERE...In Minnesota, Pine, Southern Lake, Carlton and southern
St. Louis Counties and Wisconsin, Ashland, Bayfield, Burnett,
Douglas, Iron, Sawyer and Washburn Counties. This includes the
Tribal Lands of the Lac Courte Oreilles Reservation, the Red Cliff
Band, the northwestern area of the Lac du Flambeau Band, the Bad
River Reservation, the Fond du Lac Band, the St. Croix Band in
Burnett County and the Mille Lacs Band, Hinckley and, Lena Lake
areas. Other locations including the Apostle Islands National
Lakeshore and Madeline Island.
* WHEN...Through Wednesday morning.
* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers,
creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.
Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- A slow moving cold front will bring continued heavy rainfall
which may lead to rapid runoff and flash flooding this
evening into tonight. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 3
inches are expected, with the highest of these amounts
expected southeast of a Siren to Bayfield line.
