At 852 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located near Johnson Lake Barrens Natural Area, or 14 miles north of Eagle River, moving east at 40 mph. HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Expect damage to roofs, siding, and trees. This severe thunderstorm will remain over mainly rural areas of eastern Vilas County, including the following locations... Sayner, Anvil Lake Campground, Land O Lakes, Nixon Lake Natural Area, Lac Vieux Desert, Upper Buckatabon Springs Natural Area, Star Lake, St Germain, Conover, and Dunn Lake Natural Area. Damaging winds and large hail will be the main severe hazards, with heavy rain also possible. A Severe Thunderstorm Watch is in effect for Vilas County until 10 PM this evening. An Air Quality Advisory is in effect for Door, Kewaunee, and Manitowoc counties until 11 PM due to ozone levels expected to reach the Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups (USG) to Unhealthy level. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Wednesday through Tuesday Additional thunderstorms are expected Wednesday and Wednesday evening over much of the area. There is a risk for severe storms along with heavy rainfall and localized flooding. There are on and off chances for thunderstorms from Saturday through early next week.
