The parade of low pressure systems tracking right across the area
continues next week. Tuesday could bring rain, snow, or a mixture of
rain and snow.

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be
  possible.

* WHERE...Portions of northeast Kentucky, including the following
  county, Lawrence KY, southwest Virginia, including the following
  counties, Buchanan and Dickenson, and West Virginia, including the
  following counties, Barbour, Boone, Braxton, Cabell, Calhoun,
  Clay, Gilmer, Kanawha, Lewis, Lincoln, Logan, McDowell, Mingo,
  Northwest Fayette, Northwest Nicholas, Northwest Pocahontas,
  Northwest Raleigh, Northwest Randolph, Northwest Webster, Putnam,
  Roane, Southeast Fayette, Southeast Nicholas, Southeast
  Pocahontas, Southeast Raleigh, Southeast Randolph, Southeast
  Webster, Upshur, Wayne and Wyoming.

* WHEN...Through late tonight.

* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers,
  creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.
  Area creeks and streams are running high and could flood with more
  heavy rain.

...FLOOD WARNING IN EFFECT UNTIL 315 PM EST THIS AFTERNOON...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...Portions of southwest Virginia, including the following
  county, Buchanan and southern West Virginia, including the
  following counties, McDowell, Mingo, Raleigh and Wyoming.

* WHEN...Until 315 PM EST Saturday.

* IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying
  and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. Streams
  continue to rise due to excess runoff from earlier rainfall.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 911 AM EST, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
    thunderstorms. Flooding is ongoing or expected to begin
    shortly in the warned area. Between 0.5 and 1 inch of rain
    has fallen. Grounds are saturated and streams are already
    running high, any bursts of moderate to heavy rainfall will
    cause streams to rise from their banks.
  - Additional rainfall amounts of 0.2 to 0.5 inches are possible
    in the warned area.
  - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
    Welch, Pineville, Mullens, Northfork, Twin Falls State Park,
    Hanover, Gilbert Creek, Davy, Iaeger, Kimball, Rhodell, Wolf
    Pen, Baileysville, Maben, Herndon, Josephine, Panther and
    Ghent.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

In hilly terrain there are hundreds of low water crossings which are
potentially dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to cross flooded
roads. Find an alternate route.

Report flooding to the National Weather Service by calling toll
free, 800 401 9535, when you can do so safely.
