...DENSE FOG AND LOW CLOUDS WILL PERSIST AND WORSEN ALONG THE
EASTERN SLOPES OF THE SOUTHERN APPALACHIANS THIS EVENING...

Low clouds and areas of dense fog are restricting visibility
along the eastern slopes of the mountains, especially along routes
and highways up the steep grades into the higher terrain. Use
extreme caution this evening if traveling into or out of the North
Carolina mountains, particularly in and near the western North
Carolina Foothills near the Blue Ridge escarpment, the Upstate
South Carolina Mountains along and near the North Carolina border,
and the extreme northeast Georgia mountains near North Carolina.
The low clouds and fog could quickly reduce the visibility to near
zero along these slopes.

If you must travel in these areas, allow extra travel time to
reach your destination. Use low beam headlights and fog lamps to
see the roadway, and use hazard flashers to be seen more easily by
other vehicles. Allow plenty of stopping distance.
