Heavy Rains and Associated Flooding Across the Plains into Saturday

A slow-moving weather system with abundant moisture will bring heavy rainfall across portions of the Central and Southern Plains Saturday. Soils in the region are already saturated from recent rainfall, so flash flooding and river flooding is likely.

Scattered showers and thunderstorms before midnight, then isolated showers. Some of the storms could produce small hail and gusty winds. Patchy fog after 3am. Otherwise, mostly cloudy, with a low around 42. East southeast wind 11 to 16 mph becoming light southeast after midnight. Winds could gust as high as 23 mph. Chance of precipitation is 50%.
Saturday
Isolated showers, then scattered showers and thunderstorms after noon. Some of the storms could produce small hail and gusty winds. Patchy fog before 9am. Otherwise, partly sunny, with a high near 62. Light east wind becoming east southeast 13 to 18 mph in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 25 mph. Chance of precipitation is 50%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
