...A STRONG THUNDERSTORM WILL IMPACT NORTHWESTERN CATAWBA...
SOUTHEASTERN CALDWELL AND EAST CENTRAL BURKE COUNTIES THROUGH 515 PM
EDT...

At 444 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 9
miles west of Hickory, or over Connelly Springs, moving northeast at
30 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and pea size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to outdoor objects is
         possible.

Locations impacted include...
Longview, Sawmills, Granite Falls, Icard, Hildebran, Connelly
Springs, and Rutherford College.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.
