OPEN LAKE FORECAST for Lake Michigan
National Weather Service Milwaukee/Sullivan WI
256 PM CDT Sun Jun 9 2024

FOR WATERS BEYOND FIVE NAUTICAL MILES OF SHORE ON Lake Michigan.

Waves are provided as a range of significant wave heights, which
is the average of the highest 1/3 of the wave, along with the
average height of the highest 10% of the waves which will
occasionally be encountered.

.SYNOPSIS...

Breezy westerly winds will veer to the north this evening as a
trough moves south down the lake this afternoon. The breezy winds
will be due to a tighter pressure gradient between high pressure
of 30.3 inches centered in the far Northern Plains and low
pressure of 29.3 inches centered just east of James Bay.
Northerly winds will remain breezy on Monday between these two
systems, as they slowly shift eastward. Lighter winds are likely
Monday night into Tuesday as the high moves through the area, with
southerly winds picking up later Tuesday into Wednesday on the
back side of the departing high.
