Scattered showers with isolated thunderstorms are possible during the afternoon and evening today. Weak upper ridging aloft will limit coverage of showers, but will be on the way out today. The best chance in the area will be to the southwest of the site in Virginia. Patchy fog could develop late tonight into early Wednesday morning, but is more likely west of the Blue Ridge and Catoctins. A warm front lifts into the region on Wednesday, bringing with it numerous showers and thunderstorms during the afternoon and evening. Shower activity likely lingers into the overnight. A cold front arrives Thursday morning. Light onshore flow (E/SE) today will increase out of the south on Wednesday. High temperatures will be in the mid to upper 80s Tuesday and a few degrees cooler on Wednesday. Low temperatures will be in the 60s to low 70s on Tuesday night and a bit warmer Wednesday night with the warm front.
