.Discussion...High pressure across east central Florida
eventually shifts southward into the weekend, with hotter
and drier than normal conditions largely expected across
east central Florida through the holiday weekend. Sensitive
fire weather conditions will continue through this period,
mainly across the interior, as Min RH values are forecast
to fall to the mid 30s to low 40s west of I-95 each afternoon.
Light winds expected to start the day today, with the inland
moving sea breeze increasing winds to around 10 mph out of the
east during the afternoon. Light west to southwest winds then
expected each morning into the weekend, with the sea breeze
again switching winds onshore along the coast each afternoon.
Generally Good to Very Good smoke dispersion is expected today,
and again on Saturday.
Afternoon temperatures will continue a warming trend into the
holiday weekend, with highs reaching well into the 90s and
continuing through Memorial Day. Peak heat index values climb
to around 100-105F this weekend and perhaps a little higher
Sunday/Monday south of Orlando/Melbourne.
Fog potential and other remarks...Widespread fog is not forecast.
Localized visibility reductions due to smoke from new or existing
fires will be possible even if fog is not forecast.
