...A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 745 PM CDT
FOR WESTERN MONONA COUNTY...
At 724 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located 3 miles south of
Whiting, or 21 miles north of Tekamah, moving southeast at 15 mph.
THIS IS A DESTRUCTIVE STORM FOR western Monona county.
HAZARD...Three inch hail and 60 mph wind gusts.
SOURCE...Radar indicated. At 655 PM, trained spotter reported 3 inch
hail 5 miles northwest of Whiting, IA .
IMPACT...People and animals outdoors will be severely injured.
Expect shattered windows, extensive damage to roofs,
siding, and vehicles.
Locations impacted include...
Onawa, Whiting, Turin, Lewis And Clark State Park, and Kennebec.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a
building.
This is a dangerous storm. Prepare immediately for large destructive
hail capable of producing significant damage. People outside should
