New England continental shelf and slope waters from 25 nm
offshore to the Hague Line, except to 1000 fm south of New
England.

Conditions given represent the highest within that period.

Seas given as significant wave height, which is the average
height of the highest 1/3 of the waves. Individual waves may be
more than twice the significant wave height.

Locally higher winds and seas can be expected in and near tstms.

The National Weather Service is accepting public comments until
July 29 2024 on a proposal to replace feet with meters when
describing seas in a variety of National Marine Center text
and graphical products for the Offshore and High Seas Areas

.SYNOPSIS FOR NEW ENGLAND WATERS...A warm front extending SE from
Cape Cod across Georges Bank will continue to lift slowly NE
tonight, becoming stationary across the Gulf of Maine Fri
morning. Weak low pressure will develop along the front on Fri
near the Maine coast. As the low pressure moves E on Fri it will
drag a cold front E across the waters. The cold front will move E
of the waters later Fri night into Sat. A broad area of low
pressure will slowly track E through the Saint Lawrence Valley
Sat and Sat night, moving E into the Canadian maritimes Sun and
Mon. The low will drag a weak cold front SE across the waters on
Sun. The cold front will move E of the waters Mon. Another weak
cold front will approach the coast from the W later Mon and Mon
night, then dissipate on Tue leaving behind a weak trough.

Gulf of Maine to the Hague Line

.TONIGHT...SE winds 5 to 15 kt, becoming E. Seas 3 to 6 ft.
Areas of fog with vsby 1 nm or less early. Slight chance of
tstms.
.FRI...Variable winds 5 to 15 kt, diminishing to less than
10 kt. Seas 3 to 6 ft. Areas of fog with vsby 1 nm or less.
.FRI NIGHT...S winds 5 to 15 kt, becoming W to SW. Seas 3 to
6 ft. Areas of fog with vsby 1 nm or less.
.SAT...W winds 10 to 15 kt, becoming SW. Seas 3 to 5 ft.
