...New UPDATE...

.UPDATE...
Issued at 934 PM CDT Thu Jun 6 2024

High pressure continues to influence the Four State this evening
as clear skies carry overhead. Local area ASOS/AWOS over the last
hour are reporting obs in the upper 70`s and even a few low 80`s.
Lows should end up in the lower 70`s and upper 60`s by morning,
but with dew points a few degrees cooler when compared to last
night, fog probs are lower. Regardless, not ruling out a drop in
visibility for some of the more fog prone locations. Overall, no
real update is needed at this time as the afternoon package is on
track.

.SHORT TERM...
(This evening through Friday Night)
Issued at 139 PM CDT Thu Jun 6 2024

Quiet weather is anticipated to continue into the weekend, as
upper-level ridging continues to meander over Texas. This will
allow for the hot and humid conditions to continue, with afternoon
highs climbing into the mid-90s each day. There is some potential
overnight for some patchy fog, but given how the patchy fog
underperformed last night, there will likely be more isolated
pockets of it tonight. Even the winds won`t be much to speak of
over the next 36-hours, with winds remaining variable under 5 MPH.

.LONG TERM...
(Saturday through next Wednesday)
Issued at 139 PM CDT Thu Jun 6 2024

Shower and thunderstorm chances return to the forecast by Sunday,
as a cold front will begin to work it`s way south from the
Midwest. Thankfully, overall rainfall amounts with this system
appear to be limited, and no major additional QPF is anticipated.
Additionally, the severe weather threat appears to be limited as
well, with most of the forecast resembling general thunder. Behind
the front on Monday, afternoon highs will drop around five
degrees, with highs "falling" into the mid to upper-80s. This drop
in temperature will be short lived however, as highs will begin to
climb back into the mid-90s towards the middle of the workweek.
