484 FXUS65 KABQ 011120 AAA AFDABQ Area Forecast Discussion...UPDATED National Weather Service Albuquerque NM 520 AM MDT Sat Nov 1 2025 ...New AVIATION... .KEY MESSAGES... Updated at 510 AM MDT Sat Nov 1 2025 - The weather will remain dry through next week. - Temperatures will warm this weekend with highs varying around 5 to 15 degrees above average from Sunday onward. - Breezy to locally windy conditions are forecast next Thursday as a disturbance moves through the Rockies. && .SHORT TERM... (Today through Sunday) Issued at 1234 AM MDT Sat Nov 1 2025 It`s shaping up to be a beautiful weekend around the Land of Enchantment. A ridge will gradually propagate eastward, placing weak northerly flow over New Mexico the next couple of days. Temperatures tomorrow will drop a few to several degrees from Friday`s highs, with the greatest drop in eastern New Mexico thanks to the frontal passage yesterday. Temperatures will rebound on Sunday as heights rise and a light downsloping breeze develops in eastern NM. A few high clouds will move across the state from north to south throughout the weekend, but mostly sunny skies will prevail. && .LONG TERM... (Sunday night through Friday) Issued at 1234 AM MDT Sat Nov 1 2025 Seasonably warm, dry, and pleasant weather will prevail throughout next week. Ridging will continue to dominate early in the week, allowing the above average temps (5-15 degrees) to persist areawide. The ridge will break down around mid-week, with quasi-zonal flow replacing it. There is disagreement with regard to the exact longwave pattern over the western CONUS, but all scenarios keep the storm track north of New Mexico. The base of a trough may skirt northern NM Wednesday or Thursday, with little sensible weather change other than a small temp drop and uptick in winds for areas along and east of the central mountain chain. Looking ahead to next weekend, both the GEFS and EPS mean 500mb heights are showing a broad ridge dominating over the desert southwest, indicating that the the dry and warmer than average weather will very likely continue through at least next weekend. && .AVIATION... (12Z TAFS) Issued at 510 AM MDT Sat Nov 1 2025 VFR conditions will continue to prevail through the TAF period. The north breeze in the eastern plains in the wake of a cold front will continue to weaken through the late morning hours, giving way to light winds areawide through the rest of the TAF period. High clouds will increase from the north through the day. && .FIRE WEATHER... Issued at 1234 AM MDT Sat Nov 1 2025 Critical fire weather conditions are not forecast through the next seven days. Light west winds during the day with terrain-driven winds will be commonplace each of the next several days. Afternoon minimum RH will be 15-25% most days, with fair to good recoveries each night. Winds will likely increase slightly Thursday afternoon as the base of a trough swings through, creating elevated fire weather condtions in the typical windy areas along and just east of the central mountain chain. ERCs are gradually trending higher during this dry spell so there is a low chance that critical fire weather conditions develop if winds continue to trend up. && .PRELIMINARY POINT TEMPS/POPS...
