633 FXUS64 KBRO 170526 AAA AFDBRO Area Forecast Discussion...UPDATED National Weather Service Brownsville TX 1226 AM CDT Fri Oct 17 2025 ...New AVIATION... .KEY MESSAGES... Updated at 1222 AM CDT Fri Oct 17 2025 * Dry and tranquil weather conditions with warmer than normal temperatures are expected to prevail through next Friday. * There is a moderate risk for rip currents Friday-Friday night. && .DISCUSSION... Issued at 1010 PM CDT Thu Oct 16 2025 A quiescent weather pattern is expected to prevail through the forecast period or through next Friday. Computer models continue to indicate a couple of cool fronts and associated 1020 mb sfc high pressure system from the Pac NW and Rockies pushing through much if not all of the state of Texas, including potentially here in Deep South Texas this weekend through the middle parts of next week. Consensus amongst forecast guidances continue to suggest that the first cool front will push through the forecast area on Sunday. Given the lack of snowpack over the Northwest U.S. and Canada, where it originates, a notable airmass change is not anticipated. A second cool front is expected to push through the state of Texas on Tuesday, before potentially slowing/stalling over or nearby Deep South Texas Tuesday night into Wednesday. The cool front is then progged to potentially hang around South Texas as a quasi- stationary front Wednesday through Thursday. That said, an anomalously strong 588-591 dam heat ridge is expected to drive warmer than normal temperatures through next Friday. Daily daytime highs are expected to be in the 90s with 60s/70s for nighttime lows. Finally, there is a moderate risk for rip currents expected to develop Friday and persist through Friday night. && .AVIATION... (06Z TAFS) Issued at 1222 AM CDT Fri Oct 17 2025 VFR conditions are expected to continue through the period. Light and variable winds will continue overnight, then pick up out of the south east at around 5-10 knots by late morning. Skies are expected to remain clear to mostly clear through the period. && .MARINE... Issued at 1010 PM CDT Thu Oct 16 2025 Generally favorable marine conditions are expected to prevail with light to moderate winds and low to moderate seas through next Friday. A weak sfc low/shortwave trough could result in some showers over the Offshore Gulf Waters Friday into Friday night. && .PRELIMINARY POINT TEMPS/POPS...
