.SYNOPSIS...
Low pressure will remain over Labrador through Wednesday, as
high pressure builds in from the west. High pressure will cross
the region Thursday. An occluded front will cross the region
Friday then exit across the Maritimes Saturday.

.NEAR TERM /THROUGH WEDNESDAY/...
Key Message:
*Gusty winds continue today

During the day today, isolated snow showers lift through the
Crown of Maine, and portions of the North Woods. Pressure
gradient between departing low system and incoming high
pressure to the west keeps westerly winds gusting around 25-30
mph today. Daytime highs in the far north reach into the
mid-30s, and Downeast will rise into the upper-30s to low-40s.

Tonight, low pressure stays parked over Labrador, while high
pressure builds in from the west. Partially cloudy in the north
and mostly clear Downeast. Westerly winds slowly begin to relax
overnight. Overnight lows in the mid-20s. Temperatures along the
Downeast coast could drop a degree or two from forecast given
clear skies and potential for some radiational cooling.

Wednesday, high pressure builds in New England. Partially
cloudy in the north, and mostly clear Downeast. Dry conditions.
Daytime highs in the mid-to-upper 30s in the north, and
upper-30s to low-40s Downeast.

.SHORT TERM /WEDNESDAY NIGHT THROUGH FRIDAY/...
High pressure will cross the region Wednesday night/Thursday.
Expect partly cloudy skies north, mostly clear Downeast,
Wednesday night. Partly sunny skies will occur regionwide
Thursday. High pressure begins to exit across the Maritimes
Thursday night, while an occluded front begins to cross western
Quebec province late. Clouds will increase Thursday night.
Could also have a slight chance of snow across northwest areas
late. The occluded front will approach western portions of the
forecast area later Friday. Expect a snow/rain mix across
northern areas Friday. Across Downeast areas, a snow/rain mix is
possible early Friday with generally rain later Friday. Expect
slightly below normal level temperatures Thursday, with near
normal level temperatures Friday.

.LONG TERM /FRIDAY NIGHT THROUGH MONDAY/...
The occluded front will cross the region Friday night. Expect a
rain/snow mix across northern areas early Friday night, with a
chance of snow late. Across Downeast areas, expect rain early Friday
night, with a chance of snow/rain late. An upper level disturbance
crosses the region Saturday, with high pressure building toward
the region Saturday night. Expect partly sunny/mostly cloudy
skies along with decreasing snow shower chances across northern
areas Saturday. Could have a slight chance of snow/rain showers
across Downeast areas early Saturday, with otherwise partly
sunny skies. Expect partly cloudy skies regionwide Saturday
night. High pressure should cross the region early Sunday.
Uncertainty then increases later Sunday into Monday regarding
the timing of a system approaching from the west. Expect
partly/mostly cloudy skies Sunday into Monday. Generally expect
dry conditions Sunday, with a slight chance/chance of snow
showers Sunday night. A slight chance/chance of snow/rain
showers could persist into Monday dependent on the eventual
timing of the system. Slightly below normal level temperatures
are expected Saturday through Monday.

NEAR TERM:
KFVE/KCAR/KPQI/KHUL: VFR conditions at all northern terminals
today. LLWS expected through the early morning period, and will
ease by daybreak. There is a few low-level clouds moving
through. W winds around 10-15 kts, with gusts up to 25 kt
possible.

KBGR/KBHB: VFR conditions at southern terminals
today. LLWS expected through the early morning period, and will
ease by daybreak. There is a few low-level clouds moving through
early this morning, but clouds lift and scatter by daybreak. W
winds around 10-15 kts, with gusts up to 30 kt possible.

SHORT TERM:

Wednesday night through Thursday...VFR. Variable winds 5 to 10
knots.

Thursday night...VFR early, then MVFR/IFR late. Variable winds
5 to 10 knots, becoming south/southeast.

Friday...MVFR/IFR, occasional LIFR. A chance of snow/rain
early, then snow/rain north. A chance of rain/snow early, then
rain likely Downeast. South/southeast winds 5 to 10 knots,
becoming south/southwest 10 to 15 knots.

Friday night...MVFR/IFR, occasional LIFR, early. VFR/MVFR late.
Rain/snow early, then a chance of snow north. Rain early, then a
chance of rain/snow late, Downeast. South/southwest winds 10 to
15 knots with gusts up to around 20 knots, becoming
west/northwest.

Saturday...VFR/MVFR with a chance of snow showers north.
VFR/MVFR with a slight chance of rain showers early, then VFR,
Downeast. West/northwest winds 10 to 20 knots with gusts 25 to
30 knots.

.MARINE...
NEAR TERM: Gale Warning over the outer waters, and SCA over
inter-coastals, will remain in effect through this afternoon,
with elevated gusts and seas. SCA conditions over the outer-
waters will follow this Gale Warning, with gusts up to 33kts
possible, and elevated seas up to 7ft over the outer waters.
Winds from the west.

SHORT TERM: Winds/seas below small craft advisory levels
Wednesday night into early Friday. Conditions could then begin
to approach small craft advisory levels later Friday. Rain
likely Friday.
