Regional Weather Summary
National Weather Service State College PA
544 AM EST Thu Nov 27 2025

A deep area of low pressure just south of James Bay Canada will
pour much colder air into the region this Thanksgiving Day on a
gusty Westerly wind of over 40 mph at times.

These fowl conditions are baked into the forecast through Friday
with a few, long, string-bean-like bands of lake effect stuffing
roads with several inches or more of wind-whipped snow.

Flurries will be common across the Central Mountains, Middle
Susquehanna Valley and Laurel Highlands today, while a drying,
low-level downslope flow causes some significant breaks of sunshine
for the mid to late afternoon hours across the Lower Susquehanna
Valley.

Temperatures today will display only a few to several deg F rise
at best across the Northern and Western Mountains, while the
Susquehanna Valley sees a 6 to 8 deg F rise from morning lows.

Highs today will range from the upper 20s to low 30s across much
of the Northern and Western Mtns to the lower 40s in the Greater
York, Harrisburg, Lancaster areas.

Lows tonight will be in the 20s and highs on Friday will be
mainly in the 30s.

A few periods of snow over the northern half of PA and snow or a
wintry mix across will move into the region for the late Saturday
Night and Sunday period. A more significant/widespread winter
storm is possible Tuesday and Tuesday night
