372 FXUS63 KLBF 101729 AFDLBF Area Forecast Discussion National Weather Service North Platte NE 1229 PM CDT Fri Oct 10 2025 .KEY MESSAGES... - Patchy dense fog early this morning mainly across Lincoln County - Chance of isolated showers Friday evening into Saturday morning - Cold front moves through Sunday with cooler temperatures for Monday && .SHORT TERM /THROUGH SATURDAY/... Issued at 310 AM CDT Fri Oct 10 2025 The main concern in the short term will be the patchy dense fog early this morning. Light winds and low level moisture have led to some localized fog development in the low-lying areas and the river valleys across southwest Nebraska, with the majority of the development across Lincoln County. Due to the patchy nature of the dense fog, decided to go with an SPS this morning across Lincoln County, instead of a Ufa. Expect winds to pick up slightly by 10z and should be enough to start to see patchy fog decrease this morning and not linger like yesterday`s fog development. For today and upper level ridge situated over the High Plains will keep mild temperatures as WAA with boost highs in the low 70s with temperatures around 5 to 10 degrees above normal. For this evening, a weak disturbance will move into the area and there will be a chance of isolated showers. Despite moisture advection moving into the area, forcing will remain weak, thus keeping PoP chances low in the evening through early Saturday. && .LONG TERM /SATURDAY NIGHT THROUGH THURSDAY/... Issued at 310 AM CDT Fri Oct 10 2025 A weak cold front will move through the area late Sunday and bring a brief cool down for Monday and Tuesday. Highs will be in the upper 50s to low 60s. With the cold front moving in Sunday night lows will become cool with temperatures in the low 30s across the northwest Sandhills, will have to continue to monitor this trend as Sunday night approaches as there may be a need for frost/freeze headlines. There will be isolated chances for showers Tuesday and Wednesday. An upper level ridge begins to move in Wednesday and temperatures will start to warm back into the 70s mid-week. && .AVIATION /18Z TAFS THROUGH 18Z SATURDAY/... Issued at 1230 PM CDT Fri Oct 10 2025 VFR conditions are expected to prevail through Saturday afternoon across western and north central Nebraska. Isolated showers are possible overnight across the Sandhills and north central Nebraska, though these should lead to limited impact to aviation. Winds remain from the southeast through this evening, at 10 to 15kts. Winds then strengthen from the south tonight into tomorrow, with gusts of 20 to 35kts expected for all terminals. && .LBF WATCHES/WARNINGS/ADVISORIES...
