(Today and tonight) Issued at 140 AM CST Sat Dec 6 2025 Look for dry and warmer weather today across the area. Also, low pressure developing over the Central Plains will produce a tighter pressure gradient leading to gusty west-southwest winds(25 to 30 mph) across the Concho Valley and Big Country this afternoon. highs will be in the upper 60s to lower 70s. Expect mild and dry weather tonight with lows in the upper 30s and 40s. && .LONG TERM... (Sunday through Friday) Issued at 140 AM CST Sat Dec 6 2025 A dry forecast is in store for next week, and our area will be under generally northwest flow aloft. A series of upper troughs will move southeast from the northern Plains across the Great Lakes. The main cold frontal passages for our area will be early to mid-morning Sunday, and later in the week around Thursday night. Somewhat breezy north winds are expected on Sunday following the early to mid-morning cold frontal passage. Sunny but cooler conditions are expected and afternoon highs will range from the upper 50s in the Big Country, to the mid 60s along/south of the I-10 corridor. Wind speeds will drop off Sunday night, as the axis of a surface high pressure ridge (extending from the Midwest southwest across Texas) shifts east across our area. With radiational cooling, a light freeze is expected with Monday morning lows in the upper 20s to lower 30s. Highs Monday are also expected to be in the upper 50s to mid 60s with mostly sunny skies and a return of southeast to south winds. Warmer and above normal temperatures are expected on Tuesday and Wednesday with mostly clear skies. Increased/breezy south-southwest winds are anticipated Tuesday with a tightening pressure gradient and lee surface trough development to our west. May have a rather weak cold front enter our area Wednesday. If this occurs, would bring just a temporary wind shift. Highs Wednesday are currently forecast to be in the upper 60s north to mid 70s south. The next main cold front front is progged to move south across our area around the Thursday night time frame, and possibly as early as Thursday. The medium range models continue to waffle on the timing and strength of this front. At this time, blended model solution has highs 10-15 degrees cooler on the day following its passage. This would bring our high temperatures closer to normal. && .AVIATION... (06Z TAFS) Issued at 1025 PM CST Fri Dec 5 2025 VFR conditions will continue across West Central Texas terminals, although some high clouds will continue to stream across the area. Light mainly southwest winds overnight will shift southwest and become gusty during the day on Saturday as a surface trough moves across the area. Some gusts will reach the 20-25+ knot range. Winds will subside again after sunset. && .PRELIMINARY POINT TEMPS/POPS...
