.KEY MESSAGES...

* Periods of breezy north winds continue along the Colorado River
  Valley through the week.

* Temperatures gradually climb to well-above seasonal normals by
  the middle of next week areawide.

&&

.DISCUSSION...through next week.

Stagnant weather pattern for the foreseeable future as a large
ridge over the Eastern Pacific expands into the Western US. This
will lead to strengthening high pressure over the Great Basin and
a persistent north-south pressure gradient which will induce
northerly winds down the Colorado River Valley, but elsewhere
generally light winds will dominate. Meanwhile, temperatures will
continue to gradually warm through the week, climbing to near
record values by midweek. Aside from sporadic high clouds,
sunshine will dominate the week as the primary storm track remains
well to our north.

&&

.AVIATION...For Harry Reid...For the 00Z Forecast Package...No
wind impacts are expected through the TAF period. Light southwest
winds overnight followed by light northeast to east winds
developing early afternoons. Speeds are expected to remain less
than 7 knots. VFR conditions will prevail through Sunday, with
FEW-SCT clouds at or above 20kft AGL at times.

For the rest of southern Nevada, northwest Arizona and southeast
California...For the 00Z Forecast Package...Winds will remain
light at most TAF sites into this Sunday evening, with speeds
generally remaining 10KT less. Exception is near KIFP where
northerly winds of 12-18 knots will resume Sunday. VFR conditions
will prevail, with a FEW to SCT high clouds around 20kft AGL at
times. &&
