At 728 AM, National Weather Service radar detected a large area of
showers and thunderstorms over much of eastern Oklahoma and
northwest Arkansas. Showers were heaviest in Ottawa, Cherokee and
Mcintosh counties in Oklahoma. The precipitation was in the Fort
Smith and Bentonville, Rogers and Fayetteville areas. Movement was
to the northeast at greater than 40 mph. The average amount where it
rained last hour was one tenth to one quarter of an inch with
maximum amounts of one half to three quarters of an inch. Intensity
decreased during the last hour. The Tulsa area forecast for this
morning, occasional showers with thunderstorms likely with heavy
rainfall and temperatures 63 to 67 degrees along with south winds 10
to 20 mph.
