This hazardous weather outlook is for portions of central...south
central...southwest and west central Kansas.

.DAY ONE...Today and tonight.

Day 1 Discussion
Hot temperatures are forecast again today with highs expected to
be 99 to 102 degrees. The heat index is expected to reach 105
degrees in the Hays area, where a heat advisory is in effect.

Day 1 Hazards
* Excessive heat: Elevated risk

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Thursday through Tuesday.

Days 2-7 Discussion
The heat wave will continue through Saturday with daily high
temperatures in the 99 to 103 degree range. The airmass will
be fairly dry, so excessive heat with widespread heat indices
of 105 or higher is not expected at this time. Thunderstorm
chances increase toward late weekend into the beginning of
next week as a weak frontal boundary reaches western Kansas.
