This hazardous weather outlook is for portions of central...south
central...southwest and west central Kansas.

.DAY ONE...Today and tonight.

Day 1 Discussion

Fire risk will remain elevated again on Saturday across the
western counties. NW winds will be much reduced today from what
was observed on Friday, averaging 15-25 mph, but the air will
remain dry with relative humidity near or less than 20%. With
widespread very dry dormant fuels, outdoor burning is discouraged

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Sunday through Friday.

Days 2-7 Discussion

Dry weather will continue across SW Kansas, with no precipitation
in sight. As such, there is an inherent risk of wildfire spread
each afternoon. On most days the risk will remain limited, but
increase to elevated when N/NW winds increase behind dry cold
front passages.
