THIS HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK IS FOR PORTIONS OF CENTRAL...SOUTH
CENTRAL...SOUTHWEST AND WEST CENTRAL KANSAS.

.DAY ONE...TODAY AND TONIGHT.

DAY 1 DISCUSSION

STRONG NW WINDS ARE EXPECTED AGAIN TODAY, AVERAGING 20 TO 30 MPH
WITH GUSTS NEAR 35 MPH. THESE WINDS WILL COMBINE WITH VERY DRY AIR
TO PRODUCE AN ELEVATED RISK OF WILDFIRE SPREAD. THIS RISK WILL BE
HIGHEST FROM 9 AM THROUGH 3 PM TODAY, BEFORE THE WINDS RAPIDLY
DIMINISH AROUND SUNSET THIS EVENING.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...THURSDAY THROUGH TUESDAY.

DAYS 2-7 DISCUSSION

DRY WEATHER AND MUCH LESS WIND ON THURSDAY. A STORM SYSTEM PASSING
SOUTH OF SW KANSAS IS EXPECTED TO SPREAD LIGHT RAIN AND SNOW
ACROSS THE SOUTHERN COUNTIES FRIDAY NIGHT AND EARLY SATURDAY. ANY
SNOW AMOUNTS WILL BE LIGHT, AND IMPACTS MINIMAL.

DRY WEATHER AND MODERATING TEMPERATURES ARE EXPECTED SUNDAY AND
MONDAY.

THE FIRST ARCTIC COLD AIR OF THE SEASON APPEARS TO BE HEADING TO
KANSAS NEXT WEEK. THERE IS HIGH CONFIDENCE ON THE COLD AIR
ARRIVING, BUT VERY LOW CONFIDENCE ON HOW MUCH SNOW WILL ACCOMPANY
THIS CHANGE. THE FORECAST WILL CONTINUE TO CHANGE IN THIS REGARD.
THE COLDEST DAY MAY BE NEXT WEDNESDAY DECEMBER 7TH. RESIDENTS
SHOULD BEGIN TO PREPARE HOMES, AUTOMOBILES AND LIVESTOCK FOR THIS
MUCH COLDER AIR EXPECTED NEXT WEEK.
