.DISCUSSION...through the end of the week.

Temperatures will continue to warm a few degrees each day as we head
into next week, peaking around 3 to 7 degrees above normal on Monday
and Tuesday. The Colorado River Valley and portions of southern
Mohave County will see HeatRisk increase to Major (Level 3 of 4),
with Moderate HeatRisk (Level 2 of 4) across the rest of the area.
Due to the isolated and short lived nature of the Major HeatRisk,
we will not be issuing any Extreme Heat Headlines. Beyond Tuesday
temperatures will gradually decrease as low pressure pushes into
southeastern California, southern Nevada, and northwestern
Arizona. By mid-week temperatures will have cooled back down to
near normal with slightly below normal temperatures possible late
in the week.

Moisture will begin to creep up the Colorado River Valley tomorrow
as we find ourselves sandwiched between the Four Corners High to the
east and a low pressure system to our west. This will result in
southeasterly flow aloft across the eastern portion of our forecast
area, allowing for moisture advection into the Colorado River
Valley, northwestern Arizona, and the far eastern Mojave Desert.
Beginning on Tuesday, Mohave County will see slight chances for
showers and thunderstorms each afternoon through at least Thursday.
The higher terrain of Clark and Lincoln counties will have a lesser,
but not zero, chance of seeing afternoon showers and thunderstorms
develop beginning around mid-week. The primary threats will be dry
lightning potential on Monday and Tuesday, followed by more typical
summer like downpours and gusty winds midweek onward.
