...A STRONG THUNDERSTORM WILL IMPACT WESTERN ALCONA AND SOUTHEASTERN
OSCODA COUNTIES THROUGH 1245 PM EDT...

At 1157 AM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near
Curran, or near Glennie, moving northeast at 35 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects.

Locations impacted include...
McKinley, Spruce, Curran, Lost Lake Woods, Hubbard Lake, Barton City,
Curtisville, Milen Township, and Mitchell Township.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

This storm may intensify, so be certain to monitor local radio
stations and available television stations for additional information
and possible warnings from the National Weather Service.

If on or near Hubbard Lake or any other inland lakes across Alcona
County, get out of the water and move indoors or inside a vehicle.
Remember, lightning can strike out to 10 miles from the parent
thunderstorm. If you can hear thunder, you are close enough to be
struck by lightning. Move to safe shelter now! Do not be caught on
the water in a thunderstorm.

Persons in campgrounds should consider seeking sturdy shelter until
this storm passes.
