Flood Statement

...The Flood Warning has been extended for the following rivers...

  Blanchard River at Ottawa affecting Putnam County

Recent heavy rainfall has caused the Blanchard River at Ottawa
to reach moderate flooding. The river is expected to crest a
little above moderate flood level Sunday morning.


Never drive vehicles through flooded areas. The water may be too deep
to allow safe passage. Never allow children to play in or near flood
waters. Stay tuned to NOAA Weather Radio or local media for further
statements and updated forecasts.

All times are in Eastern Time. This statement will be updated in
about 24 hours or sooner if necessary.


1215 AM EDT Sat Jul 15 2017

 The Flood Warning has been extended for
  The Blanchard River at Ottawa
* until late Tuesday night.
* At 11 PM Friday the stage was 27.1 feet and rising.
* Moderate flooding is occurring and is forecast.
* Flood stage is 23.0 feet.
* Forecast...The river will rise to a crest near 27.3 feet around  8
  AM Saturday July 15 and fall below flood stage around  3 AM Tuesday
  July 18.
* At 27.0 feet...Flooding worsens on the south side of Ottawa, with
  water on several roads. Flooding also begins in other areas of
* Highways 224 and SR 65 were closed Friday in Ottawa.
* This crest compares to a previous crest of 27.3 feet which occurred
  on Apr 13 2013.
