...SPECIAL WEATHER STATEMENT...

At 711 PM CST, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along
a line extending from near Wilmington to Fairbury. Movement was east
at 50 mph.

Pea sized hail and wind gusts of up to 30 to 40 mph will be possible
with these storms.

Locations impacted include...
Kankakee, Park Forest, Bourbonnais, Bradley, Channahon, Pontiac,
Steger, Manteno, University Park, Dwight, Peotone, Fairbury, Momence,
Wilmington, Crete, Manhattan, Braidwood, Coal City, Monee and
Beecher.

Including the following interstates...
 I-55 between mile markers 188 and 245.
 I-57 between mile markers 287 and 338.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Heavy rainfall is also occurring with these storms, and may lead to
ponding on roads. Slow down to avoid hydroplaning.

Occasional cloud to ground lightning is occurring with these storms.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.
